NEW MEN'S STORE.

CITY FIRM'S PROGRESS. HUGH WRIOHT'S PREMISES. Marking an advance In modern interior shop decoration, the new men s store to be opened to-morrow by Messrs. Hugh Wright, Ltd for the convenience of shoppers in Karangahapc Road will be among the most up to date in the city. The premises were recently taken over from the drapery firm ot Bradstreet*. and extensive remodelling he's been carried out. The effect is one of streamlining, and the arrangement of glass cabinets and cream panelling gives the store an appearance of quiet distinction, neatness and efficiency. A feature is the facilities for tailoring, these being based on the latest English pattern. The 2 rowin<T demand for tailored clothing has resulted in a considerable amount of the floor space being devoted to this purpofW. ' ■■»*.*. 1 The firm of Hugh Wright. Ltd., has 'grown up with the city. Established in 1004 it carried on business in a small shop next to Hotel Auckland until 1033. when a move was made to the modern new premise* now occupied in Victoria Arcade. A branch was opened in Hamilton, and the latest enterprise will place Hugh Wright's among the important industrial enterprises of the city. The present staff numbers 120. and increases are to be made in the near future. . Defining the policy to be adopted in the Karangahape R*oad ehop, a representative of the firm stated to-day that this would be similar to that adopted in the other stores. Clothes of the best quality onlys would be stocked, and moderate prices would be maintained. Although general conditions in the future were uncertain, the firm was confident that its enterprise in giving this further service to the public would be appreciated.
