(By Marjorie Thomas. 84, Nfble'tt Street, Wanganui.) Tf I were a tree, What things I could see, • A bird building its nest, Or cornflowers at their best. Perhaps a field of golden corn, (Jlittering with the sun at dawn, A hawthorn bush, with berries red, That gazes at the pansy bed. The bilttercup with dew so bright, That sparkles like a gem at night, There are so many thing to see If I could change into-a tree.
