PORTSMOUTH WIN SOCCER CUP FINAL BY 4 TO 1.
LONDON, April 20. The html of the Football Cup. played at Wembley, saw Portsmouth defeat Wolverhampton Wanderers by four goals to one. It was a staggering result, as the Wolves were thought certain to win. Portsmouth took possession of the play from the start, and the first goal was scored by Barlow, who Inst February was transferred from Wolverhampton at a fee of £5000. At half-time Portsmouth led by two goals to nil. Immediately after recommencing the tally was increased to three. the Wolverhampton goalie fumbling a long shot and an opposing forward took advantage of the mistake. Wolverhampton then showed a flash of their real form and scored, but Portsmouth replied with another goal. The King and Queen were present, and Her Majesty presented the Cup to Portsmouth, and medals to both teams. There were many distinguished visitors among the crowd of 100,000.
