RUNNING OF AIRAM.
APPEAL AGAINST CLUB'B DECISION An inquiry was held by the judicial committee of the Whangarei Racing Club last week into the running of Airam in the hurdle race on the first day of that meeting. The jtidicial committee was of opinion that rider, J. P. McLaughlin, Judgment in the handling of the horse, but considered there was not sufficient evidence of an offence under Rule 282. They, therefore, gave him the benefit of the doubt. They were also of opinion that he should be reprimanded. JLhe chief stipendiary steward, Mr. G. Uomer, has lodged an appeal against this decision and it will be heard by the Auckland District Committee next TTue«day.
