i STREAMS TO BE CLOSED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANG AREI, this day. The possibilities of the Ha Ha and Pokeno tributaries of the Mangakahia River for trout tishing are recognised by the Whangarei Acclimatisation Society ! These tributaries lead from the man; » stream into the Pokeno Valley and proL vide up to 18 miles of excellent fishing , water. In view of the fact that fry liberated in these streams during the past ! two years have shown such good growth I the society is to take steps to close thest streams as fronj the junction of the 1 Mangakahia River for the next three 7 years. This decision was reached at th« f annual meeting of the society last night Officers were elected as follow: Presi' 1 dent, Mr. S. J. Snow; vice-president t Mr. L. A. Dent; members of rhe coun- , cil, Messrs. M. L. Sands, C. Sjiith, N t Walker, <i. Johnson, B. Parkin; auditoi - Mr. T. W. Surman. Mr. M. F.
