OBITUARY.
MRS. MATILDA SMITH.
Once the headmistress of a private school in Mount Eden. Airs. Matilda Smith, aged »2, has died at Pakuranga. She was born at Xeweastle-on-Tyne in 1847 and came to Xew Zealand in' January, 1881, arriving at Tauranga in the ship Lady Jocelyn. Mrs. Smith married Mr. William T. Smith, a farmer, in 1885. She leaves one daughter.
