lord galwat presents cup. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ROTORUA, this day. The Ahuwhenna Maori farming trophy, presented by Lord Bledisloe dur" ing his term as Governor-General of New Zealand for the purpose of encouraging modern farming methods among Maori farmers on development schemes', was presented yesterday to this year's winner, Mr. .T. Edwards, of Horohoro, by the Governor -General. Lord Galway. There was a large gathering of natives and his Excellency was received with traditional native ceremony. _ Lord Galway, in making the presentation, congratulated the winner upon the high standard of efficiency attained, and also presented certificate* to the four next placed competitors. . In conjunction with the presentation a conference was held of the Women's league of Health, a 'body recently formed to encourage better homecraft among Maori women. Lord Galway referred to the value of this movement also, and wished it every success. The gathering represented the two most important aspects of native life—health and agriculture, he said.
