GOLD FOB UNITED STATES. British Official Witness. RUGBY, April 23. A further £19..*>00.000 worth of gold was sent to America, on Friday, makin" the total £100,000,000 in recent weeks. Little of this was British, most of it having been sent from the Continent for sanctuary. Writers in the financial news Press divide the flow of gold into three main streams—conversion of gold held in London on account of holders into dollars, transfer of a proportion of the official reserves, and the movement of liquid capital to the United State*.
