ARRIVAL IN LONDON.
Rumanian Minister To Confer With British Leaders. IMPORTANT TALKS TO-DAY. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDOX, April 23. The Rumanian Foreign Minister, Dr. Gafencu, has arrived in London and will confer with Mr. Chamberlain, and Viscount Halifax, Foreign Minister, tomorrow. The purport of the recent British assurance to Rumania is bound to find a prominent place, says a British official wireless message. The British trade mission to Rumania left London yesterday. The leader of the mission, Sir Frederick Leith-Ross, is already in Brussels, where on Friday he had a talk with Dr. Gafeneu. The mission will be accompanied by a number of representatives of Lancashire textile interests.
Commenting on the close connection between the discussions in the two capitals, "The Times" argues that the political and economic problems of South-Eastern European countries cannot be treated apart.
