MEN OF KENT.
ANNUAL MEETING. OFFICERS ELECTED. There was a large attendance at the eleventh annual meeting of the Auckland branch of the Association of Men of Kent and Kentish Men held at the Fabian elubrooms, the president, Mr. J. W. Jenks, presiding. The report of the year's activities stated that monthly socials had been held, some enjoyable and varied programmes -being arranged by various members of the committee, and thanks were acorded to the many artiste, also those who had assisted with the dance music. The attendance at the annual dinner, the dance and children's Christmas party testified-to the popularity of these functions.
Appreciation was expressed of the interest taken by the lit. Hon Lord Cornwallie, president of the parent body, also of the reception accorded members visiting England by the High Commissioner, Air. W. J. Jordan.
Owing to further substantial grants from tlie estate of the former patron, the late Sir F. W. Lang, the funds of the association were in a very satisfactory position.
The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. A. Hinge; president, Mr. G. S. Baker; vice-presidents, Mrs. F. H. Eady, Mr. fi. Hatcher, Mr. J. H. Westhrook,' Mr. A. Coppins and Mr. A. J Powdrill; honorary auditor, Mrs. A. A. Forbes; honorary secretary, Mrs. F. C. Webster; committee, Mrs" (~ S. Baker, Mrs. B. J. Blackman, Mrs. L. P. .Tones, Mrs. A. Wnllis, Mr. F. Butcher, Mr. S. Duninall, Mr A. K. Hole, Mr. R. H. Joy and Mr. K. W. Kobbine
In appreciation of his great interest the patron, Mr. Alfred Hinge, of Tunstall, Kent, was elected an honorary life member.
The retiring president, Mr. Jenke, formally handed over to the now president, Mr. Biikor, a handsome silk banner, on which was worked the badge of the association, this being a gift from Mr. Hinge.
