ANNUAL DINNER.
ST. GEORGE SOCIETY.
PATRON SAINT HONOURED.
la honour of St. George's Day the annual dinner of the Royal Society of St. George wae held at Hotel Cargen on Saturday night. There wae a large attendance of members and guests, and a colourful scene was presented in the dining room, which was draped with flags, the emblem of St. George occupying the place of honour. The tables were decorated with crimson and white roses and aeparague ferns.
The gueste were received by the president of the society, Mr. P. HeathPreest, assisted by Mrs. Heath-Preest, who wae wearing a frock of white and eilver lame.
The wives of official guests, who included representatives of the Navy, the Army and the Air Force, were:—Mrs. Averill, who wore a frock of lavender lace; Mrs. F. W. Schramm, who wore black gauged taffetas with a sequin coat; Mrs. J. A. C. Allum, black georgette; Mrs. H. M. Barnes, rose figured eatin; Mre. N". W. McD. Weir, etorm blue brocade; Mrs. E. G. Olsen, black taffetas; Mrs. F. P. Worley, black faille; 1 Mrs. N". T. Gibson, rose satin; Mrs. C. R. Keeble, black crepe suede with Oriental relief and gold sleeves; Mrs. L. S. Rickerby, midnight blue lace.
Wivee of the society's councillors also present were:—Mrs. C. A. Hankins, wearing black taffetas with sequin bolero; Mrs. N. Speary, cerise taffetas with sequin coatee; Mrs. W. F. Allen, eggshell blue satin with eilver embroideries; Mrs. J. Hollingworth, black embroidered taffetas; Mrs. O. C. Mason, ■black faille with diamante clasp; Mrs. A. Smith, blue silk marocain with lace bolero to match.
