OPOTIKI SALE. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their usual monthly sale at the Opotiki saleyards. A good average yarding of cattle and several pens of sheep came forward. Fat wethers on account of Mesers. Redpath Brothers, Wairata, made 15/, whilst a pen of mixedsex lambs made 11/6. A feature of the yarding was the large number of very forward to fat cows, which were mostly dairy sorts. The top price for fat cows was £5 6/, realised for a big Shorthorn cow offered for sale by Mr. G. Vanstone. Other cows, account Mr. W. Storer, made to £5. Many fat cows sold from £4 5/ to £4 15/; lighter. £3 10/ to £4 2/6; store cows, £2 5/ to £3 7/6; boners. 25/ to £2; likely-looking dairy heifers, account Mr. F. Pile, were sold at the very low price of £5, whilst bulls which were yarded in good average numbers showed a sharp decline on recent rates, the top price for a good heavy bull being £5; other potter bulls made from £2 15/ to £4 10/.
