GOLF APPOINTMENT.

E. J. MOSS FOR MAirNGAKIBKTE The -well-known Auckland professional, E. J. Moss, who has befen employed in a yueen Street business since he resigned hie position at Middlemore two seasons ago, lias been appointed professional to the Maungakiekie Golf. Club. Recently C. C. Clements, the Maungakjekie coach, was appointed professional of tlie Auckland Golf. Club and takes up his position there shortly. Moss, -who was born in Nottingham, came to Auckland from Australia in 1920 as coach to the Auckland Club. He immediately made hie mark in Xew Zealand golf and has been an outstanding performer in national tournaments. After being runner-up to E. S. Douglas in 1921 i in the national open and professional I championships, he won the open in 102 i and again in 1927 and 1933. In the lastnamed year he defeated Douglas at Titirangi in the play-off: he again figured ill a play-oft" at Hamilton two years ago, when J. P. Hwnabrook won. Moss also won the professional championship on thtee occasions. When at Middlemore he was the outstanding professional in Auckland and had many fine rounds on the Auckland Club course. He has an unofficial record of 06 there.
