CROQUET AFTERNOON.

MEMBER HONOURED.

WINNER OF CHAMPIONSHIP.

Members of the Papatoetoe Croquet Club met recently at an "At Home" in honour of a member, Mrs. Parker Hill, who won the championship singles in the recent Auckland Association tournament. At the afternoon tea interval, congratulations and appreciation of the honour to the club by the outstanding accomplishment of the member were extended by the president, Mrs. Kendall, and a vice-president, Mrs. Bryant. The guest of honour was presented with a bouquet of double begonias and maidenhair fern.

Complimentary references were also made to other successful players who were present, Miss Keatley, Mrs. Hickson and Mrs. Jackson. Mrs. Parker Hill replied in a neat speech. Mrs. Webber also spoke, and made graceful reference to the accomplishments of these players. Members of the Auckland executive present' were:—Mrs. Webber, Mrs. Finch. Mrs. Badeley, Mre. Clark and Mrs. Robertson.
