GAMBLING IN BRITAIN.
LONDON, March 3.
[ More than £350,000,000 was gambled in 1938 on horseracing, greyhounds, football pools and gaming machines, according to the Christian Social Council. It says that the revival of houseyhousey and bengo has encouraged work-, ing-class housewives to gamble.
