BEHIND TIME.
THE FRANKLIN RACES.
The last race at the Franklin Racing
Club's meeting was due to start at 5.20 , p.m. on Saturday, but the seventh event was only being decided at that time, the final race commencing at 6.8 p.m., or 48 minutes behind time. This is not calculated to attract visitors from outside centres and the club would do well to see that the timetable is adhered to. This was by no means all the inconvenience patrons, who travelled to the meeting in motor cars suffered. There was a most tedious delay in getting the cars away and many of them did not arrive back in Auckland till 8 p.m., or later, due to the congestion that occurred on the course. There were many complaints, and it is to be hoped at the next meeting there will be considerable improvement.
