NO COMPENSATION.
DECISION OF THE COURT.
(By Telegraph.—Frees Association.)
WELLINGTON, this day.
Both on principle and on authority, the Arbitration Court, in a reserved judgment, held that William Thomas Charles Wortley, a tramway motorman, was.not entitled to succeed in his compensation claim against the Wellington City Corporation.
Wortley was injured in the left knee in August, 1937, when he was alighting from a moving tram. He had handed over to another motorman some stops further back.
The Court held that Wortley remained on the tram entirely for his own purposes, and accordingly could not succeed in a claim.
