FREE SPEECH.

In response to "Fair Play's" unfair criticism levelled at Mr. Kenneth Melvin and •'? ■' his chairman, Mr. Singer, at a meeting in the Town Hall last Thursday evening, I, as one of that packed audience,* feel it my duty to »-ay something about the ejection of the person ... mentioned by "Fair Play." That meeting wits "■' Mr. Mclvin's' own to enable him to stale •hi* side of the "History Behind the ■ Headlines" session. The person'who was forcibly ejected was given, as a matter of fact, too. much • latitude right from the start, as it was obvious •that he;was there solely to interrupt a decent ; meeting of sensible and interested citizens. It was not a "free-for-all" Quay Street meeting nor even a political one, and was certainly not . One for questions or answers. I might add • ".,'. that had I been closer he would have been on j. the outside of the hall much sooner. lam fof ■ free speech at the proper time and place and ! fair play for •everybody. Surely it *6,possible to go to a meeting without being pestered.- . ■■■■ O.W.H. -.-' '
