PRESIDENTIAL ATHLETIC TOUR.

SPORT IN PROVINCE. FLOTJBISHING . CONDITION. CHATS GROUPS MOOTED. "There is being established a chain of amateur athletic clubs, or rather a series of chains," said Mr. H. L. Towers, president o£ the Auckland centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association when he returned from a visit to the country districts this week. . Mr Towers said a strong club had been formed at Paeroa and recently, liada most successful opening meeting. At Thames there is a healthy club. Already both are holding, regular inter-club competitloMatamata's new club is flourishing, while at Morrinsvillo the sport is distinctly on the upgrade. , , ■ A club will soon be formed at Te Aroba, and tbat wUI complete a chain in the Thames Valley district Down in the Bay of Plenty clubs are established at Tauranga, Tc Me and Opotrki.
