SUSPENDED BENEFITS.
TAX COLLECTION QUESTION. (From Our Correspondent.) HASTINGS, Wednesday. Whether the Government intended to suspend the collection of taxes to meet the suspended health benefits under the Social Security Act was a question asked at a meeting of the Hastings branch of the Farmers' Union this afternoon. It was decided to forward a remit to a combined meeting of Hawke's Bay farmers to be held later asking the Government for an answer to the question.
