GENERAL IMPROVEMENT.
ROTORUA AND TAUPO

ROTORUA, Wednesday.
An almost general improvement in trout fishing »* a result of rises in I temperature is reported by the conservator of fish and game, Air. A. Kenn. In hi* fortnightly report, of oatchee in Dip Kotorua and Tinipo districts. The Waikato River, he naid, had been fishing fairly well. On one occasion two iMislor* took 10 flsh in two hours dur- • "a: the morning, including an 11 and an H-pounder. On another occasion the same anglers took Heven flsh, the largest tiring 9Jlb. The catcheß were taken on the Alexandria smelt fly nnd the brown nymph. Some, excellent fish had been flight on the wot fly at Atiamnrl during the daytime, and in the evening the "pin nor " rUi " S l " BP,, * e and month «7»t "» W °° n,,n * in to I** Ohau Channel and on the northern «ide of La-k- Rotoltl. Condition,, at the B U e and Urcen Lnkes had not been -rood although Lake Okcrnka hud fished fairly well, as a,l«o had Ukp Okntaina, where two 10-pounde.rs had been taken re cently. The most successful die* in tlie Rotorna district during the fortnight were the; hawk fly and the yellow mntukii. In the Tallpo area it good ninny fUli wern reported nt tho deitii. while good bags hud been secured t< t Motutere Point and Htump Bay. Fi-li i n the wpotern b/iys were only of fair condition, although improving, while a lurjrer run was required before the Waftahanul would well. A 10-pouiider whs enught on the wet fly ut Three Mile Hay, while dry fly fishing in the vicinity of Pye'e Camp had been good when the weather wu suitable.
