TOURISTS' TRANSPORT.
NO HITCH ANTICIPATED.
No complications concerning the provision of taxis for tourist?, for Australia, who will arrive by the P. and O. liner Stratheden to-morrow, are anticipated by the No. 1 Transport Licensing Authority, Mr. E. J. Phelau. Questioned concerning the position, Mr. Phelau said this morning that a series of conferences had been held by him with representatives of taxi and bu* proprietors and the Tourist Department, and an amicable arrangement had been arrived at with the object of avoiding confusion. As a result of the conference he had every reaeon to believe that the transport arrangement on tile wharves would work smoothly in the future.
