WHEAT FOR CHINA.
AUSTRALIAN PURCHASES. Heartening news to Australian wheat traders and growers was the announcement last week that China had reappeared after a long absence as a purchaser of Australian wheat in cargoes. The cargo sold to China is between 7000 and 8000 tons, and hae already been loaded in South Australia. It will be taken to Shanghai. In view of the excellent purchases of flour by China in recent weeks, traders are hopeful that further sales of wheat will be made to that country in the near future.
