AIR BASE PLANS.
THE TASMAN SERVICE ADMINISTRATIVE BUILDING. "The negotiations between the Air Department of the Government, Union Airways, as representatives of Taeman Empire Airways, Ltd., and the board, for the establishment of administrative building, workshops and testing house on the eastern waterfront in the vicinity of Pan-American Airwaye , base have been conducted, and a contract let by the Air Department for the erection of the necessary buildings," stated Mr. D. Holderness, superintendent and engineer to the Auckland Harbour Board, in a report to yesterday afternoon's meeting of the board.
"The board has excavated the site to its proper grade and level, and ie preparing foundations for the construction of Haig Street and the quay adjacent to the concrete breastwork. Materials
for road work and paving are now on order," the report added.
