BRITISH ADMIRAL.
SAILOBS' BOVSXHO IEND-OFT. CHATHAM. Three thousand cheering sailors gave a rousing send-off to Admiral. Sir Edward Evans, Evans of the Broke, when he h' s appointment as Commander-in-Chief, the Nore, after three years' service at Chatham. The men had painted the words "Good-bye and good luck" outside Admiralty House, the Admiral's residence. Four deep they lined the road outside the Royal Naval Barracks, and as the Admiral slowly drove between them in his car they waved their caps and tho seaman's band played "Auld Lnng Syne." The Admiral's successor Iβ ViceAdmiral Sir Henry J. Studholme Brownrigg, formerly Admiral Commanding Reserves.
Admiral Evans, who is 57, is not retiring. At the moment he plans a ski-ing holiday in Norway with Lady Evnns. It is expected that the Admiral will be given a new naval appointment.
