Rival Claims By Australia And America. ELLSWORTH EXPEDITION. (Received 11 a.m.) CANBERRA, this day. It is reported that the annexation for the United States of 81.000 square miles of land in the Australian -Antarctic sector, north of Princess Elizabeth Land, by Mr. Lincoln Kllswortli, is disputed bv Federal officials., who stated that Australia definitely damned sovereignty over the area. It '« claimed that the land was discovered expedition led by Sir . in 1928, and forms part of the A«s tralian sector.
