BRITAIN'S LOSS?
Death Duties On £5,000,000 To £10,000,000 Estate. OIL MAGNATE'S FORTUNE. (Received 1.30 p.m.) THE HAGUE, February 6. Sir Henri Deterding, the noted oil magnate, whose death occurred on Saturday, was a naturalised Englishman, but he had been living for the last two years at Mecklenburg after marrying a German secretary, who* is at present expecting a baby.
Sir Henri's estate is estimated at between £.3,000,000 and £10,000,000. His son says that it will .presumably be subject to German law, and Britain will this lose death duties.
