WANGANUI, Sunday.
In the open piping competition at the Highland gathering at Hunterville on Saturday, the New Zealand championship for Highland slow airs was won by John McKenzie, of Masterton, with Mardo McKenzie, of MaMerton, second, and W. Budge, of Wanganui, third. The judge remarked on the high standard, and only two points separated the competitor*.
