TANIWHA FOR SALE.
WAS IN PAEROA SERVICE.
Well-known in the Auekland-Paeroa service for niany years, the Northern Company's steamer Taniwha is to be sold out of the company's fleet by tender. A wooden eteamer of 263 tons gross, the Taniwha was built at Mechanics' Bay in 1898 by Mr. R. Logan, sen, being specially constructed for the Paeroa trade.
She was engaged on this run for most of her long career. Since her withdrawal some time ago, she has bean used occasionally during the peak excursion periods in the gulf. For some months the Taniwha has lain alongside Julian's Wall, at the western end of the Western Viaduct.
