Best at Takanini — This Morning's Work. The middle grass, on wliich the .poles - were 20ft out, was in use i\t Takanini this ' morning. The going was gbod. The best effort was credited to Te Poto, i who reeled off five furlongs in impressive style in 1.2 2-5. Bachelor King was half a length in front of Dauber at the con- ' jy. i elusion of a similar task in 1.4, King's Lancer taking 1.5. Palustre covered half a mile comfortably in 535, similar time being taken by Gamos in a similar task. . Hot Box reeled off six furlongs in 1.18, : Y while Princess Val worked pleasingly over 1 three furlongs in 38s. I —
