MOVING DAY.

. THE DRIVERS' UNION. BACK TO TRADES HALL. To-day was moving day for the Auekland Drivers' Union, for,- after an absence of two years from the Trades Hall, in Hobson Street, it returned to new''offices ' on the second floor. ; - t . It was in February, 1037,' that the union, in common with the majority of the other occupants of offices- in* tlfe j building, shifted to new quarters . near the heart of the city. In the case of the drivers, however, tlic move was not as advantageous as anticipated, principally because of the traffic restrictions. Jndefcd, while the new offices were conveniently situated, they did not afford parking space within' easy walking distance of them. The result was that the union received frequent complaints concerning this disadvantage and also of the fact that, having secured parking room, members, after transacting union business, had returned to their vehicles to find Traffic Department "stickers" awaiting them. The change back to the old order as a consequence was determined on, and will be welcomed I>3' the majority of members of the union, as Ilobson Street in the vicinity of the Trades Hall offers ample parking space. Furthermore, the new quarters which the union will occupy are an improvement on the accommodation previously provided for unions as the-dividing walls between several rooms have been removed to make .one large room and a separate office for the secretary, Mr. L. G. Matthews.
