EMPIRE VETERANS.
ANNUAL MEETING HELD.
Great interest was shown by a large attendance at the annual meeting of the King's Empire Veterans, which was held in Auckland yesterday, presided over by Captain J. A. Algie. The report referred to the success of the various gatherings held during the year. The celebration of the King's birthday had been duly observed, and 85 members and ladies had attended the annual Christmas reunion.
The committee was re-elected as follows:—President, Captain J. A. Algie; vice-president, Mr. A. Pickrell; committee, Captain S. Collard. Captain J. C. Leahy, Messrs. G. F. Webster, A. Read, J. Hughes, Henry Eley and E. H. Lahman; hon. secretary and treasurer. Captain i Henry Baby. Colonel C. R. Spragg was ! appointed a vice-patron in the place of the: late Sir George Richardson.
