CHURCH CEREMONY.
NEW METHODIST HALL.
FOUNDATION STONES LAID.
The ceremony of laying two foundation stones for the new Wesley Bicentenary Hall, next to the Pitt Street Methodist Church, was held this afternoon, one stone being laid by the Rev. P. Paris, of Wellington, the president of the New Zealand Methodist Conference, the other by Mr. J. W. Shackleford, secretary of the Pitt Street Methodist Church trustees. The ceremony was attended by prominent ministers of the Church and a large number of the congregation.
The new hall will be on the site of the old hall which was removed to Mission _ Bay. The plans for the new building are for a modern structure of three storeys, which will conform in exterior appearance to the architecture of the church. The new building is to cost over £17,000. In it will be a hall, gymnasium and administrative offices. It will be ready for occupation towards the end of the year. N
