NEW ZEALAND TEAM • " CHALLENGE IN EUROPE N. V. EDWARDS TO GO HOME. ALREADY llf ENGLAND. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. I The Xew Zealand Tenuis Association ihas decided to challenge for the Davis Cup in the European zone. The team will consist of C. E. Malfroy (captain), D. C. Coombe, who will act as manager, and N. V. Edwards. The first two are in England now.. Edwards is the present national champion, wthile Malfroy won in 1933 and Coombe in 1996. It was anticipated that A. D. Brown, 1937 title-holder, would be invited, especially as he had had experience in England last summer, when he played in the Wimbledon tourney. The X.Z.L.T.A. withdrew its entry alter discovery that A. C. Stedman, 1930 champion, was not available, and Brown and Uoombe woiked their passages to the Old Country to improve their tournament play and endeavour to acclimatise themselves to international conditions.
