PAPATOETOE TOWN BOARD
The fortnightly meeting of the Papatoetoe Town Board was held last night when Mr. L. Kendall presided over a full attendance of the board.
Reserves Report.—The superintendent of parks reported the need for new mowers. It was resolved to purchase two new mowers, and to consider the purchase of a power-mower at a later date. It was reported that two young trees in the Railway Reserve were stolen, and a seat in Shirley Road was thrown over the fence. The board considered the matter very seriously, and resolved to place the matter in the hands of the police to take action. The board received apologies from two youths who were recently caught carving their names on a tree in Wallace Road.
Physical Welfare Week.—A letter was received inviting delegates to attend a conference at Otahuhu on Thursday to discuss a joint programme with members of the Papakura Borough, Manurewa Borough. Manukau County and the Otahuhu Borough for the Physical Welfare Week.
Urban Farm Lands List.—A resident applied for reduction in rates on his property. It was resolved to advise him that his property was on the Urban Farm Lands list, and nothing could be done in the matter.
