RECORDS SHATTERED V. P. Boot and A. L. Fitch A PRESS Association message states that yesterday at the Masterton Amateur Athletic Club's sports meeting V. P. Boot, the New Zealand Empire Gaines representative, who sails to-day for Sydney to compete in the New South Wales championships, broke tbe 600 yards track record of 1.13 2-5, established by R. Johnston, of South Africa, at Masterton. Paced by._a relay of runners, Boot did the distance in 1.13. A. L. Fitch, the American cdach| paced by a cyclist, clipped 2-8* off the 440 yards tracks r*£j»rd of 49 4-ss, established by Parktay of U.S.A., in 1929.
