HOME NURSING SERVICE.
hospital accojocodatioh. The serious po»ition at the Auckland Hospital in regard to accommodation wan emphasised at the meeting of the board last night when a plea for accommodation was received for some provision to be made for the Home Nursing Service. It wae pointed out by the lady superintendent of the hospital. Miss Xutsey, that a serious position had arisen. The patiente attended by the nurses numbered over 100, and their work was seriously retarded by lack of facilities for keeping records and for sterilising and making dressings. At present they had to do this in the casualty department, "which * already grossly overcrowded-." They had to do their clerical work in their bedrooms. Mr. G. T. Parvin pointed out that the Social Security Act would probably mean a considerable increase in this service, and the board ohould be making provision . not only for the present nurses but also for the position that was likely to eventuate. The question was referred to the building committee with power to act.
