Mr. W. C'. Beaumont has returned to Auckland after an extended tour of Europe. Britain, the United States of America and Mexico.

Colonel O. H. Mead, Officer Commanding the Northern Military District, was •n arrival at Auckland by train from the south this morning.

The Hon. H. 0. R. Mason, Attorney(General and Minister of .fpstice, returned from Wellington by this morning's Limited express.

Mr. G'. R. Bnch, physical welfare ofltcnr attached to the Department of Internal Affairs, who has been visiting Auckland, haa returned south by train.

The Hon. W. E. Barnard, Speaker of the House of Representatives, who has been on a cycling tour in the Nelson district, left Wellington for Napier today.

Mr. D. Holderness, superintendent and engineer for the Auckland Harbour Board, returned after a visit to Christchurch by the Limited express from Wellington this morning.

Mr. C. A. Furlong, of the Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington, who came to Auckland in connection with yesterday's State luncheon, returned south by the early express this afternoon.

Mr. Mervyn J. Barrett, of the staff of the Auckland city branch of the National Bank of New Zealand, Limited, has been transferred to Palmerston North and will leave Auckland on Tuesday.

Mr. J. Fitxsimons, of Bemuera, has returned from a four and a half months' visit to the United States of America. While abroad he inquired Into new developments In surgery at the Mayo Clink and a number of other leading hospitals and research institutions.

Mr. W. Bevan Sutherland, of Auckland, has secured an appointment with Messrs. Wray, Smith and Ha I ford, solicitors, London, and intends to remain in London indefinitely. He left Auckland in the Cap Pilar and has since toured both England and Scotland by ear.

Mr. J. ,H. Lut, of Su Francisco, accompanied by his wile, la on a throe wnkr visit to tha Dominion. Mr. Lang recently carried oat preliminary organisation work in connection with the <300,000 centenary fond of the Presbyterian Church of Now Zealand. Ha will go on to Australia to organise finance for the Young Men's Christian Association* la Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide, Inter returning to New Zealand.
