GIRLS AT JIU-JITSU.
SEDDON MEMORIAL COLLEGE. An interesting display was given of the ancient art of jiu-jitsu by tlie girls of tinSeddon Memorial Technical College, under the direct fori of their instructor, Mr# J. B. Adams. Great keenness was shown by the pupils, and the ability and skill with which the girls executed .the intricate and complicated holds and throws kept tlie audience in a constant state of enthusiasm and expectation. The ease with which they handled their opponents shows that even the so-called weaker sex can mak jiu-jitsu an excellent means of defence. An address on Jiu-jitsu was given by Mr. C. Pollard at tlie conclusion. The judges had a difficult task In selecting the winners. Results were as follows:— Senior Division.—Betty Sage (Sedilon House). 1; Enid bunas ißinns), 2; Iris Beveriilge (Welleslcy i. S. Junior Division.—Patricia Langton (Wellexley House), 1; Mary Collins iSeddon). 2: Dorothy Cooper (Setldon), 3; Florence Foley (Welleslcy). 4. The house competition resulted as follow:—Seddon, 77 points, 1: Binns, 70. 2: Wellesley, 00, 3: Hindley. ,Vi. 4.
