WOMAN'S DEATH.
TAXI DRIVER CHARGED.
COMMITTED FOR TRIAL.
After evidence produced by the police against Herbert Kane, taxi driver, charged with negligently driving a motor car thereby causing the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Muir had been heard yesterday afternoon, accused pleaded not guilty 'and was committed to the Supreme I Court for trial. Sub-Inspector Fox appeared for the police, and Mr. Henry and Mr. Stubbs for the accused. | The police alleged that the accused, on August 20. in (Ireat South Koad, had cut in between a tramear and a car driven by Mrs. Muir, and hail hit the bumper of Mrs. Muir's car. causing it to swerve on to the footpath and crash against a power pole. Mrs. Muir was killed, and other women (»assengers in J the car suffered injuries.
