SECOND DAY.

ELLERSLIE AGAIN. BLONDE PRINCESS SCORES. STANLEY TO BRONZE TRAIL. Blondo Princess and Bronze Trail proved good prospects for their follower* in the first two races of the second day programme at the Auckland Racing Club's meeting at Ellerslie to-day. The favourites failed to land top money in both the opening events, which were won by the fourth and fifth fancies respectively. The same result attended the third race. Kilberis disapj>oiiited those who made him favourite, and first place was filled by the seventh favourite, Rozel, with the sixth favourite, Tutor, second. The weather was fine, and the course in £00d order. A <?ood attendance of the public augured well for the totalisator. Fourth Favourite Wins. The <;i.xborne-owned and trained Blonde Princess won the Vauxhall Handicap practically all the way. She drew. Xo. 14 at the barrier, but her rider elected to take her 011 the extreme outside of the field and she started from that position. She was stronglv challenged over the last half by Perilltis. but held 011 to score narrowly. The latter returned a double-figure dividend for second place. Bronwen made her l>est showing to date when she ran third. British 2s at ion was the first to show out, but Blonde Prificess and Bronwen soon took up the running from Rajanya. Perilltis, Simla and Bronze Emerald. Blonde Princess led into the straight from Periling, Rajanya, Bronwen. Hunters Rose and Estro (wide out) and Bronze Emerald. Blonde Princess held 011 to win by a neck from Perillus. who beat Bronwen by three-quarters of a length. Miss Appellant was fourth, and then came Simla, Odtaa, British Nation and Rajanya. Bronze Trail Home. Bronze I rail registered his first victory when he accounted for the Stanley Handicap. He was never far away from the f 1 ont and, running up to the leader. Ohmaha, over half a mile from home, stayed 011 to win narrowly. Dauber, the favourite, put up a good finishing effort, but had to be content with third place. High Sea finished on well to set second, while Miss Tidal was wellin the picture for over six furlongs. High Sea and Maereana were the first to showout from Dauber, Ohmaha and Bronze I rail. Along the back Ohmaha ran to the front, but was soon joined by Miss Tidal, with Bronze Trail. Hitrh Sea. Silver Quex, Bonstar, Dauber and Tupeotu following as named. Bronze Trail then ran up to Ohmaha and the pair led across the top from Miss Tidal. Dauber, Bonstar, High Sea and Silver Quex. There was not much alteration at the home turn, and Bronze Trail did best in the run home, to beat High Sea by a neck, with Dauber a length away. Inquisitor was fourth, and then came Silver Quex, Ohmaha and Miss Tidal. Another Surprise. Rozel created a surprise by winning the Kawau Hurdle Race. He took charge more than a mile from home and was never afterwards seriously troubled, lutor, who filled second place, was always well up, but the w inner had too ■ much in hand for him. Krination ran another great race under his load of 13 9 to fill third position.
