NATIONAL DRIVE.
READY FOR ELECTION. DOMINION PREPARATION. FEAR ECONOMIC CHANGES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON*, this day. The official report of the meeting of the National party held in Wellington last week states that far from «»lackening, the National drive te becoming more pronounced. The president, Mr. C. H. Weston, in an address said, after referring to the necessity admitted by the Government that expenditure must be reduced: "I suppose, the danger to New Zealand is that rafter than face a reduction in the standard of living they will resort to drastic changes in the economic system." Members of the council stressed the necessity for the National party being oiganised and prepared to fight an election at short notice, and arrangement* were made to carry this into effect.
