THE STONE JUG.
1 I am Mire there arc many of your readers I who would gladly subscribe' toward:? sending - to England (single fare only) those thoughtless member* of the Auckland City Council ! responsible for pulling down the old Stone I .Tug and using it for a clubhouse foundation. I feel they would ha vet much more scope in the Old Country with its wealth of old historical buildings. It makn one imagine their mouths fairly watering at the thought of the wonderful milk bar perhsijw (?) they ■ could make if they demolished the Tower of l ;London. for instance. I feel that something should l>e done immediately, lest as a Centennial gesture these enterprising souls decide to use the late Sir John Logan Campbell's old home to make a picket fence for that .darling of tlieir hearte, the Western Springs 'golf course. PRAEXUXTIUS.
