DESTROYED BY FIRE.
BEMODEIXED HOMESTEAD. (From Our Correspondent.) PALMERSTOX NORTH, Sunday. The homestead of Mr. A. Eggleton, on Eggleton's Line at Bunnythorpe, was destroyed by fire this afternoon. The origin of the outbreak is a mystery. Mrs. Eggleton and some members of the family were away at Fielding, but Mr. Eggleton and one son were in the front garden when smoke was noticed issuing from the roof. They rushed to the back door, but were unable to enter owing to the density of the smoke. A strong wind aided the flames and very soon the whole house, which contained eight rooms and had recently been remodelled, was blazing. The heat was so great that a nearby hedge caught alight. Details of the insurances were not available to-night.
