MOTHERS' CLUB.

LAWN FAIR HELD. The Mothers' Club of the Y.W.C.A. held a successful lawn fair recently at tlie residence of Mrs. W. J. Edwards, 108, Mount Eden Road, Auckland. The attractively decorated stalls, together with the brightly-coloured flowers in the garden made a very pretty picture, aiirt being favoured with fine weather there was a large attendance, and all the stalls did very good business. The stallholders were: Linen, Mesdames Yallop, Johnstone and Dickens; sweets, Mesdames Manson, Hinkley and Baker; cake, Mesdames Rogers, Cooper, Hvland and Isherwood; produce, Mesdames Hoy, Greig and Kinley; jumble, Mesdames Bragg and E. Rogers; flower, Mesdames Hynes, Deery and Thomas. Entertaining music was arranged through a loud speaker erected by Mr. S. Manson. Competitions were held during the afternoon and winners were as follows:—Xail driving, Mrs. McClure; ball game, Mrs. Morris and Miss Ellingham. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Edwards, (Jaughan and MaoIntyre. At the weekly club meeting Mrs. Manson, president, presided over a large attendance. Mrs. Sharp led the devotions, and the speaker for the afternoon was Mr. A. A. Harker, of the New Zealand Red Cross Society, who gave a most interesting account of the work which the Red Cross is doing both in New Zealand and throughout the world. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames (Jaughan, Leitz, I Thomas and Bragg.
