ACCORDED CIVIC RECEPTION. BOOT LAY AT HAMILTON. (By Tekjjraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON", this day. V. P. B<iot and S. Lay, the Empire Cxames athletes, who, with P. F. Sharpley, compertiad in track and other events here to-day, were accorded a civic reception this morning. The Maytar, Mr. H. D. Caro, said these men had dkxne more than they realised to keep New Zealand's name to the forefront among nations. He mentioned that Boot would makes an attempt this season on S. 0. WoodeiHon's half-mile world record. Concluding. Mr. Caro praised the Government a :fi tness campaign. Mr. A. H. Malcolm, president of the Hamilton Amateur Athletic and Club, conycnied the cluli's welcome.
