WRESTLING.
BROTHER JONATHAN HERE. MEETS BLOMFIELD SATURDAY. Lofty Blomfield, so Brother Jonathan said, was not so good as a wrestler at that; he might be New Zealand champion, but he was that merely because he had New Zealand protection as "the local boy." Answering that, Blomfield said that he was prepared to meet Jonathan at any time, and added a few comments concerning what he would do to him when they did meet. That, started it. SydneyStadiums put up the money for a challenge match there, but a bigger sum was raised in New Zealand —and Jonathan accepted. The pair of them will meet in an open-air match at Carlow Park next Saturday night, and, judging from reports of Jonathan's prowess in the Australian ring, it should prove one of the most interesting and exciting matches of the season. Jonathan is not only a fast, versatile wrestler, but he is a personality. He proved the moet popular attraction of the Australian season, and Blomfield will have a difficult tank in gaining a decision from him. However, Blomfield haw given more than a good account of himself this season and won 49 and drawn 10 out of 6fi matches in which, so far, lie has taken part. With greater opportunities for rest and training since the main season ended, he is in better form than ever. He will have every chance on Saturday of making Jonathan ''eat his words —and his beard," as he. has stated he will.
