RAGWORT SEEDFLY.
PUTARURU EXPERIMENTS. (From Our Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Monday. In discussing the experiments with the ragwort seed-fly being conducted at Piitamni by the Cawthron Institute, Dr. W. Miller, assistant director of the institute, said there were no signs of the insect in the district yet. Dr. Miller visited Hamilton on Saturday with the director, Sir Theodore Rigg. I Preparations were being made for the coming season, however, Dr. Miller said, and experiments to ascertain the effect of the insect under field conditions would be made. The work had proved very satisfactory, but the stage had not yet been reached when the effect of the fly could be ascertained.
