CRICKET.
UNIVERSITY CLUB. A note of keenness on the club's activities during the coming season was ,l<nni, nant at the annual general meeting of the Auckland University College Pricket Club. Professor I'. \V. Hurhhlge presided over a good attendance of members. Officers elected: —I'residcnt. Dr. K. E. Bllllen : vice-presidents. Professors Burhldge. Bartrum. Algie. Rutherford. Cooper, Messrs. I.usk. Lee. Hampson. Desborough. Speight. lainn. Hamilton. Roberts. Lange. Hogben. Aickin : club captain, Mr. W. M. Winter: secretary. Mr. I*. A. Miller: treasurer. Mr. F. S. Haden ; auditor, Mr. If. R. tiarrard : committee. Messrs. Newbold. Matheson. I.ange, Cooper and Butler: delegate to A.C.A. management committee. Mr. A. M. Matheson : delegates to annual general meeting of A.C.A., Messrs. Winter. Schnauer and Cooper; selection committee, Mr. Lange, the club captain and captains of teams.
A number of promising new members were elected.
It was resolved that, if the wickets were in order, the opening practice be held at the college on Saturday, October 1.
PAPATOETOE CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Papatoetoe Cricket Club took place last night In the Town Hall, when there was a large attendance of members. The report showed an Increase in members, and last year five teams were placed in the field. The accounts showed a credit of £8.

Burnside ; hon. secretary. Dr. J. J. Valentine : assistant secretary, Mr. Jack Swaffleld: hon. treasurer, Mr. E. Bray; sole selector, Mr. A. Winks ; custodian, Mr. P. Partridge: committee, Messrs. J. Havill. P. Broberg. and (J. White: deleBates to Auckland Cricket Association, Messrs. A. Winks and Cain. W. Tettley was awarded the trophy for the most Improved fieldsman. ENGLISH PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
