Among his most prized trophies is a North Koad Club medal he won in 1027 when he covered .'il>7 miles in the 24 hours' race that vear.

The Beach Haven Club also closed its season on Saturday with a 20 miler for the seniors. J. Perry showed mure brilliance than usual to win very easily and this rider has hopes of success in the 100 miler, for he is well out on the handicap. I). Patten was again fastest and is the club's leading rider for this vear. He has CO start in the 100 and is very much favoured by his clnbmates.

Arrangements have been made to conduct the New Zealand 100 kilos race over a course from Devonport to Swanson Koad on October 1.1. The race will start at 8 a.m. so that as much election traffic as possible will be avoided. Each centre may enter three riders and Wellington will choose its three from Dutton. Disley, Amey ami J. Wilson, while Blakeway aiid Shilton may be two of Canterbury's representatives. The Aueklanders in line for selection are Triner. Hughes. Brown and Silcock. and after the race next Saturday thp selectors will be in a ' position to announce the three.

Safety of Riders. After the address by Mr. J. Ainsworth. chief traffic inspector, last evening to all entrants in the 100 miles race to be held next Saturday; a better feeling should result between the riders and the transport officers, who intend to do their best to co-operate for the safety of the ridets. As a road finish will be used special arrangements are being made to ensure a clear run over the last 200 yards, and riders are asked to remind their friends who may follow in cars to observe a 20 yard 3 interval when following groups.

The race will start at 9.30 a.m. from Papakura and the larger block at Ngaruawahia will be taken this year. Cartons of milk will be handed to riders at Te Kauwhata on both the outward and homeward journey. On finishing riders must •continue on and turn right into a paddock just beyond the finish so as to avoid any congestion. Refreshments will be handed riders at the tent specially erected on the property.

Last year the championship was won by .T. Brown, of the Manukau Club, after a sensational and disappointing finish in which he and Triner fell when but a chain from the line. With the road finish this year a better finish for all riders is anticipated.
